Regional Meetings
Once a year the RSC organises a meeting in each of the nine Regions within the UK and Ireland for its 'active' members - ie those involved on Divisional Boards & Committees, Local Section Committees. RSC Representatives, Benevolent Fund Representatives, Younger Members and Women Member groups are also encouraged to attend.
Under the new structure of governance, Regional Meetings are viewed as an important avenue of communication between the RSC Council and members.
The agenda is based upon current RSC goals and objectives and is aligned with the strategic plan. A Member of Council Chairs the meeting and the main presentations are given by an Honorary Officer - President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President or Honorary Treasurer. Time is allowed to cover both local and national issues. Key points raised at the meetings are available here on the website.
The schedule of meetings for 2008 is:
- South East 24 January
- Eastern 07 February
- North West 21 February
- Midlands 04 March
- North East 13 March
- Welsh 27 March
- Ireland 15 April
- South West 17 April
- Scottish 29 April
Though attendance is by invitation, any interested member may apply to attend these meetings and take a full part in the discussions.
