| 1 | | Application Fees |
| | Only applications for Fellow (FRSC) have an application fee. See RSC Subscription Rates for details |

| 2 | | Annual Subscriptions |
| (a) | A non-member applying for admission to any category of membership is required to remit the first annual subscription appropriate to that category. |
| | | |
| (b) | The subscription payment will be refunded if an application is not successful. |
| | | |
| (c) | When admission takes place after 30 September in any year, the sum remitted will be credited against the annual subscription that would become payable on 1 January following. |
| | | |
| (d) | A member who is transferred to another category of membership will not be required to pay the higher subscription appropriate to that category until 1 January following. |
| | | |
| 3 | | Former Members |
| | In addition to the annual subscription for the category sought, former members may also be required to pay any unpaid monies for the year their membership lapsed. |
| | | |
| 4 | | Students & Designated Students |
| (a) | Applicants who are studying on a course recognised as providing eligibility for admission as Associate Member (AMRSC) at an institute of higher education will be accepted as a Designated Student and will be eligible to pay a reduced Affiliate rate. |
| | | |
| (b) | Associate Members, Members and Fellows may apply for recognition as a Designated Student and payment of a reduced subscription (remaining in their category of membership) if they are studying full-time for a higher degree in chemical science or on a course providing qualified teacher status. |
| | | |
| (c) | Designated Students are required to certify annually compliance with the relevant conditions and to notify the RSC immediately they cease to comply. |
| | | |
| (d) | No member shall be permitted to remain as a Designated Student for a period exceeding eight years in aggregate. |
