Ruth grew up in Cork, Ireland. After graduating with a BSc in chemistry from NUI Cork, she moved to the University of Bristol to study for a PhD in organometallic (phosphine) chemistry in Paul Pringle's group. She then joined the RSC in 2007 and began working in Publishing as a trainee Technical Editor. She now works as an Assistant Editor on Dalton Transactions, CrystEngComm and Chemical Society Reviews and became the Interviews Editor of the Chemical Supplements in 2009. Ruth loves music, cooking and baking. She also swims in a vain attempt to work off the products of the cooking and baking.
