Search Results Screen
The results of all searches are displayed as a hit list which contains a listing of the titles and authors of records that match your search criteria. If you get a large number of hits or no hits at all, you may return to the search screen to modify your search criteria.
- Items in the hit list are ordered by the publication date of the original item, with the most recent items appearing first
- The total number of hits which match your search criteria is indicated at the top of the page
- The number of titles displayed per page is 10 by default, unless you have selected otherwise by using the Number of hits to be displayed list on the Search Page.
Selecting Records for Display
To select titles from the hit list for full record display, click on the check boxes next to the required titles. Clicking again on a check box will remove the selection. To select all titles from the hit list page on display, click in the square check box at the top of the hit list labelled Select/deselect All Records. (A maximum of 30 titles at a time may be selected from the hit list for full record display.) Clicking again in this box will deselect all records in the hit list page on display.
Any additional pages of the hit list may be accessed by clicking on the link [Next xx Results] which is at the top and bottom of the screen.
It is only possible to display full records for a selection of articles selected from the hit list page that is currently displayed.
Record Display Options
At the bottom of the hit list of titles on the search results page there is a drop down list labelled Records to be displayed per page. The list contains 2 entries, All and Single. When All is selected (default), every record that you have selected from the current hit list will be displayed on a single, scrollable page. When Single is selected, only one full record at a time will be displayed on the record display page.
