RSC Publishing are pleased to announce a cover competition for our highly subscribed database Methods in Organic Synthesis.

With a large readership and diverse array of abstracts in every issue, the winner of the competition can be sure that their cover will be seen by readers across the globe. The image will feature on the RSC website and on the front of Methods in Organic Synthesis throughout 2008, highly visible to our extensive international audience. In addition, the winner will receive a free year's subscription (print and online) to Methods in Organic Synthesis!

Methods in Organic Synthesis hosts the most novel, current and topical abstracts from the organic chemistry field, and as such the winning image should reflect these values. Can you bring organic chemistry to life visually?

CONDITIONS & CRITERIA

• The deadline for submissions is Monday 22nd October 2007. You should submit your work to the Methods in Organic Synthesis team via the contact details below.
• Your image should be designed to fit under the journal title (210 by 175 mm) and be provided in electronic form; PICT, TIF or EPS formats are preferable although other formats may be suitable.
• The artwork should be of 600dpi resolution. Please also provide a brief sentence of text describing what the picture illustrates.
• The cover design should be scientifically sound, and may be more artistic in appearance.     

• The decision on the winner of the prize will be made by a panel of judges.
• The decision of these judges will be final, no correspondence will be entered into. 

TERMS OF ENTRY

• By providing an entry, you confirm that you give the RSC permission to use this image on the front cover of Methods in Organic Synthesis.
• We may need to edit or adapt this image to suit the purpose of the intended use, but this would be subject to your approval.
• We may also be using this image in promotional literature for Methods in Organic Synthesis and for other RSC publicity purposes, including on RSC websites.
• By entering this competition, you confirm that you agree to these uses without further permission and free of any royalties, and that you have the right to grant such uses.
