Enhanced version of DWPI now on STN

- The new version of Dewent World Patents Index(DWPI) has been released on STN. The reloaded database offers additional data, new search options as well as enhanced display and download facilities.
Benefits for patent searchers using DWPI on STN now include:
- Use of International Patent Classification Reform (version 8) codes
- An additional 750,000 searchable abstracts
- The inclusion of original patent titles, abstracts and main claim text
- The flexibility to search value-added text only
- More bibliographic information, including full inventor names
- All patent publications containing language indicators
- Impoved performance of date limiting searching
- The optional display of details about each patent family member including patent agent names
- XML download format for advanced post-processing of results
The Derwent World Patent Index on STN (WPINDEX, WPIDS and WPIX) is a comprehensive database of worldwide patents with patent families compiled from 41 global issuing authorities, contains over 14 million family records and is updated twice weekly. STN's implementation of the database, which was launched on STN on 22 October 2006, requires no changes or learning curves for the customer
