Ever been in the situation where you've got too many or too few answers and you don't know what to do next?  This session will explore the best ways to "free-text" search and navigate through large answer sets in a cost-effective manner.  Techniques to get the best from CA Lexicon and then take advantage of such strategies in other files which employ a thesaurus will be discussed.

Chemical and Physical Property Searching on STN

This session will give an overview of property databases on STN and will look at ways to use the new experimental and calculated properties that have been added to REGISTRY file records. Using property tags to find references with certain property specifications mentioned will be discussed.

New Approaches for Analysis of STN Data -  STN Express® V8.0 and preview of STN® AnaVistT 

The biggest challenge facing information professionals today beyond obtaining results is understanding those results and preparing them for meaningful presentation to others. In this session, we will:

  • Explore techniques for better analysis of answer sets from STN searches
  • Demonstrate the use of data grouping techniques and show how their use can lead to more relevant analysis results
  • Preview the powerful capabilities of STN® AnaVistT software for interactive visualization of search results from CAplus, USPATFULL and PCTFULL
