Abstract

A model reaction is described for extradiol catechol cleavage involving FeCl₂ or FeCl_3,1,4,9-triazacyclononane (TACN), pyridine and dioxygen which shows similar cofactor and regio-selectivity to the extradiol catechol dioxygenases.
