Room temperature formation of rhodium nanoparticles on TiO2[110] via MetalOrganic Chemical-Vapour Deposition (MOCVD) of [Rh(CO)2Cl]2

Abstract

Room temperature adsorption of [Rh(CO)2Cl]2 on TiO2[110] is investigated using Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy (STM) which reveals the formation of nanoparticles that coexist with the mono-disperse Rh(CO)2Cl species; the spatial distribution of these particles indicates that nanoparticle formation occurs principally at step edges.
