Icosahedral galloxane clusters

Hydrolysis of
tris(aryl or alkyl)gallium(III)
species results in the formation of spheroidal dodecameric galloxane mixed oxide–hydroxide clusters, and shows that the gallium centres and associated residual alkyl/aryl groups are arranged at the polyhedral vertices of pseudo-icosahedra.
