Explosives under pressure—the crystal structure of -RDX as determined by high-pressure X-ray and neutron diffraction

Using a combination of X-ray single crystal and neutron powder diffraction, the crystal structure of the high-pressure -form of RDX has been determined at 5.2 GPa and shows that the RDX molecules adopt different conformations compared to the conformation found in the ambient-pressure -form.
