10th Anniversary Article: A perspective on single molecule SERS: current status and future challenges
15 December 2008
This 10th Anniversary Article, a PCCP Perspective written by Pablo Etchegoin and Eric Le Ru, summarises several key concepts in single-molecule SERS, with a outlook to the future, towards the (still many) unresolved issues.

Pablo Etchegoin |
In describing his work, Etchegoin said, 'our research in single molecule SERS has been the result of a fruitful team effort, in particular, through my collaboration with Eric C. Le Ru who has been instrumental in the development of many of the important results.'
Etchegoin went on to explain why he publishes in PCCP: 'We chose PCCP with the belief that it is a "rising star" in the field of physical chemistry/chemical physics, with high quality papers and a broad audience. I think that the increasing role of PCCP in the reporting of important results in the field is beyond doubt, and we can only expect it to increase in the future.'
Etchegoin will continue to work with PCCP in 2009 as Guest Editor of a SERS themed issue of the journal.
