Call for papers: Characterisation of Adsorbed Species

07 October 2009

PCCP is delighted to announce a high-profile themed issue on Characterisation of Absorbed Species Guest Edited by Petr Nachtigall and Carlos Otero Arean.

The themed issue will be published in PCCP in mid 2010 and will be displayed at relevant conferences in 2010, maximising the visibility of work published. These will include the 16th International Zeolite Conference (IZC16), to be held in Sorrento in July and the 2nd International Conference on Metal-Organic Frameworks and Open Framework Compounds (MOF2010), to be held in Marseille in September. It is our pleasure to invite you to submit to this themed issue.

Submission Deadline: 14 January 2010

The study of adsorbed species has undergone tremendous methodological and instrumental developments in the recent past. Theoretical description of adsorption complexes represents an important field in contemporary computational chemistry. While this field is relatively old and well established, the ever-growing computational power as well as software development opens up new possibilities for modelling. On the experimental side, a recent progress and development in the experimental instrumentation has led to increased resolution and new insight into the character of adsorbed species. The aim of this PCCP themed issue is to survey the state-of-the-art of both experimental and theoretical tools used for investigation of the properties of adsorbed species formed in a variety of systems.

We believe such a themed issue is timely, and will make an important and lasting contribution to this area.

Submissions should be high quality manuscripts of original, unpublished research. Please note that for publication in PCCP it is a requirement that a manuscript should contain important new physical insight. Both Communications and Full Papers can be submitted for consideration. All submissions will be subject to rigorous peer review to meet the usual high standards of PCCP. Please indicate upon submission that you wish to contribute your manuscript to this themed issue.
