As part of our promotional activities to highlight the success of the journal and recognise the latest outstanding new research in the fields of physical chemistry and chemical physics, PCCP is presenting a series of prizes at conferences throughout 2009.

Three student poster prizes were awarded at the recent Taylor Conference which took place at Cardiff University from 22nd to 25th June 2009. The prizes were awarded to Janine Montero (first prize), Ceri Hammond (second prize) and Kevin Morgan (third prize).

Janine Montero received her prize for "Structure-Sensitive Biodiesel Synthesis Over Nanocrystalline MgO" Ceri Hammond received his prize for "The synthesis of glycerol carbonate from glycerol and urea with zeolite" Kevin Morgan received his prize for "The Reaction Mechanism of CO oxidation over CuMnOx Catalysts"

The prize-winners received a PCCP Prize Certificate and a financial reward, with the presentation being made by Professor Mike Bowker. Further PCCP Prizes are scheduled to be awarded later on this year. 

The 5th Taylor conference is scheduled to take place in Aberdeen in 2013.
