JAAS

Innovative research on the fundamental theory and application of spectrometric techniques.

New Editorial Board Chair of JAAS

23 July 2008

RSC Publishing is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Detlef Günther as the new Chair of the JAAS Editorial Board.

Detlef is Professor for Trace Element and Micro Analysis at the ETH Zürich in the Laboratory of Inorganic Chemistry. His research interests are focused on characterizing fundamental processes related to element analyses and isotope ratio determinations. These include studies on plasma-based excitation (ICP) and alternative ionization sources (GD), laser-induced plasma formation and sample interaction for high spatial resolution analysis as well as the application of micro- to nano analytical techniques to a wide variety of samples.

Professor Detlef Günther

He became a member of the Advisory Board of JAAS in 2002 and later joined the Editorial Board in 2005. He is author and co-author of over 160 original papers and in 2002 received the Ruzicka Award, followed by the European Award for Plasma Spectrochemistry in 2003.

RSC Publishing would also like to thank the outgoing Chair of the JAAS Editorial Board, Professor Gary Hieftje, for all his hard work and dedication to the journal. He will continue to be closely involved with JAAS as a member of the International Advisory Board.
