Issue 9, 2006 of JAAS featured selected papers presented at the Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry, held January 8-14, 2006, in Tucson, AZ, USA.  This conference is an important annual meeting presenting new developments in all aspects of plasma spectrochemistry.  JAAS supports this conference with a Special Issue each year.
