-Phenylthio acylmethylene triphenylarsoranes, the first stable -thiyl arsonium ylides, are prepared by phenylsulfenylation–transylidation reaction of the corresponding acylmethylene triphenylarsoranes with phenylsulfenyl chloride; Wittig reactions are carried out under mild reaction conditions on the arsonium ylides to provide -phenylthio-,-unsaturated ketones.
