John Blunt presents the 2006 NPR Lecture Award

2006 NPR lecture award winner, John W Blunt gave his award presentation as a speaker at the 2006 ASP meeting in Washington, DC.
Professor Blunt, of the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, delivered a talk entitled "Dereplication to Discovery: New Methodology for Rapid, Small-Scale Investigations of Fungal Metabolites". The talk, which took place on 6th August 2006, was well received and attended by nearly 500 people from over 25 countries worldwide.
The 2006 prize was awarded to Professor Blunt in recognition of his exceptional work in the field of natural products. His annual work for NPR on Marine Natural Products has become one of the journal's most popular regular articles and is both highly requested and frequently cited. Professor Blunt says "I am grateful to both NPR and to the ASP Conference organisers for agreeing to host this award."
Natural Product Reports sponsors a lecture each year at an international meeting. The recipient will have made a significant research contribution to natural products chemistry in its broadest sense, and will have published in or have had some affiliation to the journal. The award is open to anyone fitting these criteria.
