RSCPublishing Award for Service
RSCPublishing has awarded Professor Jim Hanson the Award for Service. The award, which recognises his work and dedication to both RSC journals and books, was presented to Professor Hanson on 16 April at Burlington House in London.

Professor Hanson, from the University of Sussex, has continuously supported RSCPublishing over many years. He was a particularly long-standing member of the Natural Product Reports (NPR) Editorial Board, joining the journal when it was first launched 25 years ago. Since his retirement from the Editorial Board in 2006, Professor Hanson has been an active member of the NPR Advisory Editorial Board.
Professor Hanson has written numerous books for the RSC. His more recent titles include Chemistry of Fungi, Chemistry in the Garden and Chemistry and Medicines. Furthermore, Professor Hanson has written well over 25 articles for NPR, including a regular review on diterpenoids and another on steroids.
Upon receiving the RSCPublishing Award for Service, Professor Hanson said: "I really appreciate the recognition. I have really enjoyed working for Natural Product Reports. The structure, biosynthesis and role of natural products is a fascinating area and one that I have found very interesting."
