NPR Lecture Award 2008 presented

The 2008 NPR Lecture Award was presented to Professor Jason Micklefield from the University of Manchester, UK, at the IUPAC International Conference on Biodiversity and Natural Products, held on July 13th-18th at the Delta Prince Edward, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

The prize was awarded by Professor Daisuke Uemura from Keio University and Nagoya University, Japan, who is a member of the NPR Editorial Board. Professor Micklefield was recognised by the judges for his significant contribution to natural products research, in particular to the biosynthetic engineering of nonribosomal peptides. His prize lecture was entitled 'Biosynthetic Engineering of Nonribosomal Lipopeptides.'
'I am delighted to receive the NPR lecture award,' said Professor Micklefield. 'This has been an excellent meeting and I very much enjoyed the whole week.'
