Issue 7 of NPR features a Highlight article by Ian Paterson (University of Cambridge) and Stephen Dalby (Biopolis, Singapore) on the synthesis and stereochemical determination of the spirastrellolides, compounds which were isolated from the Caribbean marine sponge Spirastrella coccinea. The second Highlight in the issue, by Holger Jenke-Kodama and Elke Dittmann (Humboldt-University Berlin, Germany), discusses bioinformatic strategies in research into NRPS/PKS megasynthases.
