2008 OBC Lecture Award
03 December 2007
Nominations are now closed for the 2008 Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry Lecture Award. Thank you for your nominations. The winner will be selected from the nominees by a panel of judges, who will announce the result in early 2008.
This annual award is open to scientists who have made a significant contribution in any aspect of synthetic, biomolecular or physical organic chemistry and ideally will have an independent academic career of between 8 and 15 years.
The winner, who must be available to give the sponsored lecture, will also be invited to submit a related article for publication in OBC (which will be subject to the usual peer review process). The award, open to anyone fitting these criteria, will cover various expenses incurred at the meeting.
The 2008 award lecture will be given at the 31st National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium, to be held at University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, US between the 15th and 19th June 2008.
The 2007 OBC lecture was given by Professor Ben List, from the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Germany, at the 20th International Symposium: Synthesis in Organic Chemistry conference in Cambridge in July 2007.
