Emerging Area

The field of G-quadruplex DNA interacting agents is rapidly expanding driven by their promising antitumor properties. A classification of the diverse chemical families developed in the past decade is proposed, with an emphasis on the molecular determinants involved in target recognition.

Perspectives

The use of bile acids for applications in asymmetric synthesis, molecular receptors, organo and hydrogels, and nanoscience are described in this perspective article.

Maitra Perspective

This Perspective briefly reviews the structure and mechanism, physiological role, and upregulation and induction of NAD(P)H: quinone oxidoreductase 1, and focuses on the synthesis of new heterocyclic quinones and their metabolism by recombinant human NQO1.
