OBC Poster Prizes at CSCS 09
31 July 2009
OBC awarded two poster prizes at Chirality and Supramolecular Chemical Synthesis, the UK-Japan joint symposium held at the University of Birmingham, UK, on 27-28 July.
The symposium was held in recognition of the 150 years of UK-Japan diplomatic relations. Speakers from both countries were invited to give presentations of their research in a spirit of collaboration and friendship.

A panel of judges, including OBC editor Vikki Allen and Sue Gibson, president of the RSC Organic Division, had the difficult task of choosing the poster prize winners.
We are delighted to announce that Renate Gleixner, from Liam Cox's group at the University of Birmingham, won the OBC collaboration prize for prize for the best synthetic organic chemistry poster while Jusaku Minari, from Kazuo Sakurai's group at the University of Kitakyushu, Japan, won the OBC collaboration prize for the best collaborative work poster. The winners were awarded a one-year print subscription to OBC, a prize certificate and a copy of the RSC book, Origin of Chirality in the Molecules of Life.
