It is with great pleasure that Dr Vikki Allen is announced as the new editor of Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry. Vikki rejoins the OBC  editorial team after working as a science correspondent on Chemistry World. Vikki will be representing OBC  at numerous international conferences over the coming months, where she looks forward to meeting many of you in person.

OBC  is also delighted to announce its first (partial) impact factor, a healthy 2.194. This figure recognises the high-quality science published in OBC  during its formative years. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our authors, referees and readers for their continual support.

With a new editor in place, and its reputation firmly established, the future of OBC  looks bright.
