Ben Davis got his B.A. (1993) and D.Phil. (1996) from the University of Oxford studying carbohydrate chemistry under the supervision of Professor George Fleet. He then spent 2 years as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Professor Bryan Jones at the University of Toronto, exploring protein chemistry and biocatalysis. In 1998 Ben was appointed a lecturer at the University of Durhamand moved in 2001 to the Dyson Perrins Laboratory, University of Oxford. His wide-ranging research centers on and Biotechnology of Carbohydrates and Proteins. Ben joined the editorial board of OBC in 2006. Ben is also the co-founder of Glycoform, a small biotechnology company aimed at exploiting the therapeutic potential of glycoproteins.
