Professor Paolo Scrimin

Paolo Scrimin got his doctorate degree from the University of Padova under the direction of Giorgio Modena on the mechanism of addition of sulphur compounds to double and triple bonds. After post-doctoral work with Bob Moss at Rutgers University in the field of micellar and vesicular aggregates he joined the faculty of the University of of Padova where he is currently Full Professor of Organic Chemistry in the Department of Chemical Sciences. Paolo has been the recipient of the Ciamician Medal (1988) and of the prize for research (2004) both awarded by the Organic Division of the Italian Chemical Society, of which he is the vice-president from 2008. Paolo's scientific interests are in the broad field of supramolecular chemistry, specifically on self-assembled systems and the mimicry of hydrolytic metallo-enzymes. Paulo joined the OBC Editorial Board in January 2009.
