Encompassing all aspects of synthetic and biological macromolecules, and related emerging areas

New journal announced: Polymer Chemistry

01 June 2009

Polymer Chemistry, a new peer-reviewed journal from RSC Publishing encompassing all aspects of synthetic and biological macromolecules, and related emerging areas, will launch early in 2010.

Polymer Chemistry cover
The new journal will provide a showcase for the ongoing efforts driving polymer chemistry, highlighting the creativity of the field and previously inaccessible applications.

Monthly issues will contain a full mix of research articles including Communications, Reviews, and Full Papers.

The journal will have a broad scope, covering areas of polymer chemistry of interest to materials scientists and bioscientists, as well as all traditional areas of the field.

Editor-in-Chief of Polymer Chemistry is Professor David Haddleton of Warwick University, UK. In outlining his vision for Polymer Chemistry he describes how the new journal 'will report on the best polymer chemistry from around the globe and will become a high impact factor journal that all polymer chemists will be proud to have on their CV'. He is enthusiastic about the ability of RSC Publishing to achieve these goals; 'The reputation gained from over 100 years of publishing is well deserved as the RSC continually evolves to meet the growing demands of our diverse subject.'

"The reputation gained from over 100 years of publishing is well deserved as the RSC continually evolves to meet the growing demands of our diverse subject. I am very excited in working with the RSC on this new venture."
- David Haddleton, Editor-in-Chief, Polymer Chemistry

Polymer Chemistry Associate Editor, Eva Harth of Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, considers the launch of the new journal to be auspicious; 'The current exciting developments in polymer science make a new journal timely that will follow the rapid growth of applied polymers driven by chemistry and innovative processes.'
