Professor Changming Li
Professor Chang Ming Li is currently Head of Bioengineering Division and Director for Advanced Bionanosystems at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is also the Director of the Institute for Clean Energy & Advanced Materials, Southwest University, China. He received his Bachelor degree in Chemistry from USTC, Master and PhD degrees from Wuhan University in 1986, followed by postdoctoral research under Prof Larry F. Faulkner in University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 1991, he joined WPI, USA to work as the senior scientist and managed a R&D team to develop biosensors. Then he worked with USA Motorola for about 10 years, where he was a Motorola Science Advisory Board Associate, Distinguish Technical Staff and senior manager leading the Advance Research Group. Since August 2008, Professor Li has joined Singapore's Nanyang Technological University as a faculty member.
Professor Li's research interests cover biosensor/lab-on-a-chip, nanomaterials and biotechnology, bio/nanoelectronics and green energies (solar, fuel cells, lithium batteries and supercapacitors). He has published more than 270 peer-reviewed journal papers and holds 84 patents. He is the Fellow of American institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (2011), and received USA Motorola's most prestigious Master Innovator Award (1999) and Nanyang Research and Innovation Award (2008).
