Record breaking impact for The Analyst!
26 June 2008
Newly released ISI citation data show The Analyst's 2007 impact factor at 3.553, a 11% rise from its 2006 value. This reinforces The Analyst's position as the highest ranked European general analytical chemistry journal and continues its impressive rise of recent years.

Even more exciting is the journal's immediacy index. The Analyst has the highest immediacy index of any general analytical chemistry journal at 1.032. The immediacy index is a measure of how topical and urgent the papers published by a journal are. It is calculated by dividing the number of citations to articles published in a given year by the number of articles published in that year.

These striking figures show that The Analyst is the journal of choice for publishing urgent new work of the highest quality in analytical, bioanalytical and detection science.
We would like to thank our authors, referees and readers for their part in helping us to achieve this success.
