The ChemComm Editorial Board member was recognised for his achievements in the creation of nanoporous materials, which have the potential to be used as cheap and environmentally friendly energy storage products.

Professor Ryoo is the third scientist to receive the award, which was created in 2006. He will receive $1.5 million every year for a maximum six years to further his research.

" I feel greatly honored. I would like to share this honor with my group members, collaborators, friends and RSC members."
- Ryong Ryoo

He plans to use the funding to upgrade his laboratory facilities and recruit more students and postdoctoral fellows, allowing him to make 'more significant contributions to the world research community on nanoporous materials.'

The ChemComm editorial team would like to congratulate Professor Ryoo on this significant achievement.
