On the Outside Cover of Issue 7
12 February 2007
On the outside cover this week, D. Venkataraman and co-workers depict the packing of naphthyl ether and naphthalimide moieties into segregated stacks due to mutually phobic side-chain interactions.
The authors describe this as a general strategy for the spontaneous segregation of electron-rich and electron-poor -conjugated moieties using mutually phobic aliphatic fluorocarbon-hydrocarbon interactions.
