Amir Hoveyda

Amir H. Hoveyda is the Joseph T. and Patricia Vanderslice Millennium Professor of Chemistry at Boston College. He received his undergraduate education at Columbia University where he received a B. A. degree in 1981. He was a graduate student at Yale University with Professor Stuart L. Schreiber. After receiving his Ph.D. in 1986, he joined Professor David Evans at Harvard as an American Cancer Society postdoctoral fellow. In June 1990, Hoveyda joined the faculty at Boston College, where he was promoted to rank of Professor in 1994; in 1998, he was appointed to his present position. Hoveyda's research interests are in the development of new stereoselective reactions, organometallic chemistry, asymmetric catalysis, synthesis of complex natural products and combinatorial chemistry.
