Eiji Yashima
Eiji Yashima received his BS, MS, and PhD (1988) from Osaka University under the supervision of Prof. Yoshio Okamoto. In 1986, he joined Kagoshima University. After a postdoc with David Tirrell at UMass (1988-1989), he moved to Nagoya University in 1991 and was promoted to full Professor in 1998. Since 2002, he is a professor of Institute for Advanced Research, Nagoya University, and is the project leader of the ERATO Project (JST) on "Super-structured Helix". His current research interests are in the design and synthesis of helical molecules, supramolecules, and polymers with novel structures and functions. He received the SPSJ Wiley Polymer Science Award in 2000, the Japan IBM Science Award in 2001, and Molecular Chirality Award in 2005.
