Emma grew up in Pontypridd, South Wales, before going to the University of Cardiff in 2000 to study for her BSc in chemistry. After graduating in 2003, Emma ventured northwards to carry out her PhD in lanthanide coordination chemistry at the University of Manchester, with Prof Stephen Faulkner. Emma began working for the RSC in February 2007, as a trainee assistant editor for ChemComm and is now the Development Editor for ChemComm, Chemical Science and Chemical Society Reviews. In her spare time, Emma enjoys horse riding, country walks and reading.
