Kathleen was born and grew up in Mauritius. In 1997, she moved to the UK to study Chemistry with Pharmacology at the University of Leeds and stayed to do her PhD in the area of glycomimetics and peptidomimetics via palladium cascade reactions.   After graduating in 2004, Kathleen worked for two years on an antiviral and antimalarial project at the Medical Research Council-Laboratory of Molecular Biology. In March 2007, she joined the ChemComm editorial team at the RSC as an assistant editor. In her spare time, she enjoys tai chi, travelling, spending quality time with family and friends.
