Li-Jun Wan received his B.E and M.S degrees from Dalian University of Technology (1982 &1987) and Ph.D. from Tohoku University in 1996. He was a lecturer at Maritime University from 1987 to 1992. He was then involved in the Itaya Electromicroscopy Project as a researcher for ERATO/JST during 1996-1997. This was followed by becoming a visiting professor at Hokkaido University until 1998. During 1998-2000 he was Assistant Professor at Tohoku University. Then in 1999, he joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in Beijing, where he is currently a Professor of chemistry. His research interests include molecular self-assembly and devices, scanning probe microscopy, materials chemistry and electrochemistry.
