Seth Marder
Dr. Marder obtained his Bachelors in chemistry from MIT in 1978 and his Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985. After postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford, and a National Research Council Resident Research Assoc. at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) California Institute of Technology (Caltech), he became a Member of the Technical Staff at the JPL, and a Member of the Beckman Institute at Caltech. In 1998 he moved to University of Arizona where is currently a Professor of Chemistry and Optical Sciences. In 2003 he moved to the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he is also a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering. He was also appointed the founding director for the Center for Optical Photonics and Electronics. Dr Marder is also a co-founder of Arizona Microsystems, L.L.C., Focal Point L.L.C and LumoFlex, L.L.C. and is a member of the scientific advisory board of Lumera Corporation. He is also a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
