Ruth grew up in Cork, Ireland. After graduating with a BSc in chemistry from NUI Cork, she moved to the University of Bristol to study for a PhD in organometallic (phosphine) chemistry in Professor Paul Pringle's group. She joined the RSC in 2007 and began working in Publishing as a trainee Technical Editor. She then moved to become an Assistant Editor on Dalton Transactions, CrystEngComm and Chemical Society Reviews. At the same time, Ruth was also the Interviews Editor of the RSC Chemicals Supplements during 2009. She is now the Deputy Editor of Dalton Transactions and CrystEngComm. Ruth loves music, cooking and baking. She also swims frequently in a vain attempt to work off the products of the cooking and baking.
