Adriano Zecchina
Adriano Zecchinawas born in 1936. He was full professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Turin from 1975 to 2009, where he was teaching Physical Chemistry, Catalysis, Physical Chemistry of Materials and Advanced Materials. Actually he is Professor Emeritus of the same University. He has been member of the International Advisory board of Faraday Transactions in 1993-96 and of the Editorial board in 1996-98. Actually he is member of the Ownership board of PCCP (Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics) and of the Editorial board of the Chemical Society Reviews. In 1980 he has been awarded with the Bourke Medal of the Faraday Society and in 2003 and 2009 of the Fauser Plate and of the Sigillo Medal of Italian Chemical Society. He is member of the Accademia delle Scienze of Turin and of the Accademia dei Lincei. Actually he is director of the Centre of Excellence NIS (Nanostructured Interfaces and Surfaces) of University of Turin. He is author of about 400 papers (included three reviews) published on International Journals of Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Catalysis and Surface Science. His studies have received about 9000 citations and his h-idex is about 60. The published researches are mainly devoted to the investigation by means of FTIR, UV-vis-NIR, Raman, XAS spectroscopies of the surface states, surface species and catalytic properties of oxides, zeolites, microporous oxidic and polymeric systems.
