Eawag, Switzerland

Beate I. Escher, chemist, Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences 1995, Venia Legendi 2002 in Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology. Group leader and senior scientist at Eawag, Dübendorf, Switzerland, and lecturer in Environmental Chemistry, Ecotoxicology and Risk Assessment at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH, Zürich, Switzerland. Dr. Escher's research interest focuses on speciation, bioavailability, uptake, partitioning, and modes of toxic action of organic pollutants, mixtures and metabolites. Results from these more fundamentally oriented research feeds on the one hand into the development of novel mechanism based test systems and on the other hand into conceptual work providing contributions to hazard and risk assessment.
