Emerging Investigators Call for Papers

12 January 2010

Submissions are now being invited for an 'Emerging Investigators' special issue of the Journal of Environmental Monitoring (JEM) This issue is intended to highlight the work of young up-and-coming scientists working at the forefront of the environmental sciences.

Members of the JEM Editorial Board would like to highlight principal investigators, at a relatively early stage in their careers (specifically within 10 years of completion of PhD), whose work has the potential to influence future directions in the environmental field.

By publishing your work in this 'Emerging Investigators' special issue you will not only benefit from being recognized as an outstanding young scientist, but also from publishing in a dedicated issue of a journal which aims to serve the environmental science community. This issue will be widely promoted at an international level.

If you accept this invitation it is important that in addition to the instructions that apply to all JEM authors you will need to be aware of a few additional instructions that only apply to this issue:

* The invited author should ideally submit a very brief description of the work likely to be covered in their paper to ensure that it fits broadly within the scope of the journal.

* The invited author must be the corresponding author (this will be indicated with an asterisk next to the author's name in the published article).

* Manuscripts need to be submitted by April 30th, 2010, preferably via our on-line submissions service.

* Admissible article types are communications, full papers or critical reviews .

* A brief biography (around 100 words would be ideal) and a photograph of the invited author should accompany each submitted manuscript. Please be creative both with the biography and the picture as we are trying to highlight the dynamic nature of the new generation of environmental scientists.

If you intend to submit a manuscript please could you let us know by e-mail as we   would like to have a list of authors who intend to contribute as soon as possible.
