Publishing cutting-edge research that reduces the environmental impact of the chemical enterprise by developing alternative sustainable technologies.
Issue 2 of Green Chemistry
09 February 2007

Welcome to the second issue of Green Chemistry for 2007.
New developments this month for the future of Green Chemistry and all RSC Journals is the introduction of Project Prospect, an RSC Publishing project pioneering the next generation of enriched articles.
Data in RSC journal papers will be read, indexed and intelligently searched by machine: a first step towards the "semantic web". For further information, please visit the Project Prospect website.
Tutorial Review: Green HAZOP Analysis: a Novel Green Engineering Guidance Tool for Design, Assessment and Implementation of Processes

Tutorial Reviews are critical evaluations of the existing state of knowledge on a particular facet of green chemistry.
In this issue, a group of scientists based at the University of Valladolid, Spain, and Refineria C.I. Puertollano, Spain, explore the role of safe, green and sustainable processes in chemical engineering design and operation. Specifically, the group use Bhopal's pesticide plant as an example.
On the cover: Supported PEG-Phase Nanoparticles and their Application in Palladium-Catalyzed Aerobic Oxidation in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

You can read the accompanying paper by Walter Leitner, Zhenshan Hou and Nils Theyssen in this issue.
