Green Chemistry has a new Board Member

06 January 2009

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Shu Kobayashi to the Green Chemistry Editorial Board.

Shu Kobayashi
Shu Kobayashi is Professor at the University of Tokyo Department of Chemistry and heads a large research group. Some of the areas that he and his colleagues focus on are: The total synthesis of biologically active compounds, organic chemistry in microreactors, novel chiral catalysis, immobilisation of catalysts and the study of water as a reaction medium. Professor Kobayashi has made considerable advances successfully adapting "classic" organic reactions, which are traditionally carried out in organic solvents, to proceed with high yields and selectivity in water. His achievements in the field of synthetic organic chemistry have been honoured, most recently, by the American Chemical Society's Arthur C. Cope Award and Nagoya University's Nagoya Silver Medal.

We welcome Professor Kobayashi to the Editorial Board team.
