"Pop-ups" must be enabled in order to use the online submission and peer review system
In most cases where the system appears to "hang"/freeze and not carry out commands, the reason is that pop-up blockers are preventing the system from operating correctly. Please note that this system uses pop-ups only for legitimate, system-related tasks. As pop-up blockers exist to prevent your computer from malicious pop-up windows. it is therefore safe to enable pop-up windows as follows:
- Check the default Popup Blocker:
- In Internet Explorer, look under Tools > Pop-Up Blocker.
- Either Turn Off Pop-up Blocker (this will mean that all pop-ups are enabled from all web sites. This may be undesirable)
- Or under Pop-Up Blocker Settings, add "Address of Web site to allow" mc.manuscriptcentral.com
- In Mozilla Firefox, look under Tools > Options.
- Either untick "Block Popup Windows"
- Or under "Allowed Sites", sometimes called "Exceptions", add "Address of web site" mc.manuscriptcentral.com
- In Internet Explorer, look under Tools > Pop-Up Blocker.
- Also check for any third-party toolbars (eg: from Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc) which can also contain pop-up blockers. These pop-up blockers are often designed well enough so that most e-mail pop-ups in ScholarOne will still appear even though others will be blocked. In your internet browser, check the View -> Toolbars submenu for any third-party toolbars that are installed and verify that each has its pop-up blocker turned off.
- You may have a local colleague in the IT department who would be able to advise further on the internet settings of your computer.
