Free online access for new journal
RSC Publishing is again using a new approach to provide access to their new journal Integrative Biology: Quantitative biosciences from nano to macro. Issue 1 is scheduled for January 2009. All online content of the new journal will be available for free during 2009 and 2010.
Access, which will be managed by institution and IP address, will be provided following a simple registration process. In addition, the current issue of the journal will be freely available to everyone online, without the need for any registration.
- Dr Mina Bissell
Integrative Biology will provide a unique venue for elucidating biological processes, mechanisms and phenomena through quantitative enabling technologies at the convergence of biology with physics, chemistry, engineering, imaging and informatics.
The editorial board is led by Distinguished Scientist Dr Mina Bissell, Life Sciences Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA and comprises international experts from a variety of disciplines.
Bissell said: "What the RSC is doing through the publication of this journal is important for progress of science and integration of physical sciences and biology." RSC Publishing's Editorial Director, John Haynes added "Authors will benefit from publishing in the journal from day one because the access model is designed to maximise ease of use and global visibility in the journal's early days."
