Journal of Materials Chemistry

High impact applications, properties and synthesis of exciting new materials

Journal of Materials Chemistry Carbon Nanostructures theme issue

20 March 2008

The discovery of fullerenes in 1985 established interest in new allotropes of carbon, which came to include carbon nanotubes, nanohorns, and graphenes, as well as other less common carbon nano-objects. A huge amount of work has followed, stemming from the expectations that these carbon nanostructures have for potential applications in different fields ranging from materials science and molecular electronics to biological and biomedical applications.

Guest edited by Dirk Guldi, Maurizio Prato and Nazario Martin, this issue contains 14 articles and 5 Feature articles from some of the leaders in the field, including Francis D'Souza and C. N. R. Rao.

See below for the articles in the issue. We hope that you will enjoy reading the articles.
