Andreas Manz

Professor Andreas Manz is the Head of the ISAS - Institute for Analytical Sciences in Berlin and Dortmund (Germany) since 2003. He is professor for analytical chemistry at the Biochemical and Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Dortmund, and visiting professor at the Chemistry Department of Imperial College (London). The research in the Manz group covers miniaturisation of analytical chemistry, metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and nanoscale optical imaging. Specific interests lie in chip based x-ray, plasma emission, fluorescence and Raman spectrometry, chip based electrophoretic and chromatographic separations, chip based chemical reactions like PCR and immunoassays, and chip based cell and vesicle handling. He was pioneering electrophoresis and LC on chip.
