Sarah was born in Stafford and spent her early life there until going to Warwick University in 1983. After graduating in Chemistry in 1986 she worked for one year for a biosensor company before embarking on a PhD at the University of East Anglia (UEA) with Richard Stephenson. Having graduated from UEA in 1990 she moved to Australia, where she spent three years at the John Curtin School of Medical Research at the Australian National University in Canberra working with Dr Bill Cowden. After a year spent travelling the world she joined the Royal Society of Chemistry as a Trainee Assistant Editor on ChemComm and is now the Editor of ChemComm and Molecular Biosystems. Sarah especially enjoys travelling and natural history, particularly birds, and has written a book on bird watching in Australia.
