NJC celebrates Jerry Atwood's birthday
25 July 2008
At the III International Symposium on Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry (ISMSC) in Las Vegas July 13-18, organised by Jonathan Sessler and Eric Anslyn, the 65th birthday of Jerry Atwood, co-Editor-in-Chief of NJC, was celebrated. NJC sponsored a poster session during the conference at which the May issue of NJC, dedicated to Jerry Atwood on the occasion of his birthday, was presented to him. Jonathan Steed, editor of the issue and NJC Associate Editor, was pleased to lead a toast to Jerry at the event, wishing him a happy birthday on behalf of the NJC team.

The NJC May issues dedicated to Jerry includes contributions from Peter Junk, Jonathan Sessler, Julius Rebek Jr., Ashwini Nangia, Eric Anslyn, Greg Robinson and George Gokel. The complete issue can be accessed following the link below.
'Jerry Atwood has a tremendous reputation in the macrocyclic and supramolecular chemistry community', comments Steed. 'The celebration generated an enormous amount of excitement with copies of the special issue distributed to delegates. Jerry was noticeably more popular for photographs than the Las Vegas 'Klingon' who also attended the meeting.' (pictured below with Jerry Atwood and co-organiser Prof. Eric V.
